Bea Chang is a writer, feminist, and traveler who was born in Taiwan, raised in California and New Jersey, and has traveled to 85 countries. Her short stories and essays have appeared in Arts & Letters, Hobart, The Offing, Redivider, Bodega, Awesome Sports Project, Broad Street Magazine, and Memoir.

Her work has received a Pushcart Prize nomination, and garnered Notable Mentions in the Best American Essays and the Best American Sports Writing series. In addition, Bea has won the Tom Howard / John H. Reid Fiction & Essay Contest, and been awarded the Susan Atefat Prize for Nonfiction and the Beacon Street Nonfiction Contest. She is also the recipient of fellowships from the Mendocino Coast Writers’ Conference, Monson Arts Residency and Storyknife Writers’ Retreat. She is working on her first collection of essays.

She is currently somewhere, with her backpack, flip-flops, a pen and a stuffed alien.
